6th graders celebrate joining BGJHS with a Friday afternoon Pep Rally!
Sixth grade is when students from all five BGISD elementary schools come together as one Purple Family.

During the event, the BGJHS dance team performed and cheerleaders led Purple cheers. Plus, BGHS Senior Piper Boyd shared advice on getting involved and making the most of every opportunity offered. The first week full of school ended with games and lots of school spirit.

Once a Purple, Always a Purple! 💜

Twenty students from BGJHS attended the IdeaFestival at WKU which included a morning of speaker sessions and an afternoon of minds-on, hands-on activities. Pictured are BGJHS students in the event’s makerspace, creating paintings and puzzles, making smartphone microscopes and flying with a flight simulator instructed by retired United States Air Force Lieutenant General Steve Basham (BGHS Class of 1983).

The IdeaFestival is hosted by The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU in cooperation with the original IdeaFestival® in Louisville.
